I doubt very seriously if they are pictured at their headquarters on Betio! The trees are are far too nice and provide too much shade. Betio was torn to pieces from end to end and littered with debris. If they are pictured still at Tarawa then maybe on another island I would think.

Hard to disagree. Wilson did hang around a little longer in the area until early December.  Quantico has a collection of his that has some material on Tarawa I'm after. Just kind of hit on this when searching on him.
