Don't mean to wear you out Gunny, but anything here that would give you a clue as to what beach this was? #32 is in line with my research.

It is off about the center of Red Beach 2 about half-way between the stone jetty where LVT-2 #2 and LVT-2 #9 landed and the main pier. Somewhere I have an aerial that shows them as you see them.

Note the reader between two pillboxes and the large tree with the amtracks in the background brought close by the camera optics. The yellow line shows his direction of view with tow of the three tractors you show at the far right. The third is out of frame to the right.[img]

Hopefully this image shows. It is the aerial I mentioned but now showing the paper reader's line of sight to the tractors at the far right. Two of the three show but the third is out of frame.[img]

Great pictures, Gunny. Thanks. Definitely the ones. I guess where I fell short was imagining that it was where they met their end. Not impossible I guess but they could have been brought there and just abandoned too? I've seen 10 in at least one other picture.

Abandoned and shifted around it seems by the current military occupants of the island at the time.
